Lambada
The Dutch strawberry season kicks off with Lambada strawberries. This delicious variety is usually available from mid-March. Soft and juicy with an intensely sweet flavour, Lambada strawberries are a real treat and can be enjoyed until the end of April.
Viva Patricia
A fresh addition to the Beekers Berries strawberry range is Viva Patricia. This variety has a sweet, delightful flavour, a slightly firmer texture, and is medium to large in size. Grown early in the season, Viva Patricia strawberries are available from March to June.
Eves Delight
Eves Delight is known for its consistently great flavour. Recognisable by its conical shape and glossy appearance with a subtle orange hue, it is one of the most common strawberries from May to July.
Eves Joy
Eves Joy stands out for its juicy flavour and consistent size throughout the season. Its bright red colour makes it instantly eye-catching. The first strawberries are ready in May, and you can enjoy this variety right through to August.
BEE Honest
One of our newest varieties is BEE Honest. Firm yet juicy, these strawberries maintain excellent quality and a long shelf life all season long. The first BEE Honest strawberries are available from April, with growing continuing until the end of the year.
Sonata
Sonata strawberries have everything you could wish for: juicy, sweet, and wonderfully aromatic. They have a beautiful conical shape with a perfect green crown. From December, Sonata strawberries give you a little taste of summer, with growing continuing until June.
Sonsation
Sonsation is similar in appearance to Sonata but slightly firmer, with a well balanced sweet-tangy flavour. It also has a conical shape but is a little shorter than other varieties. These juicy strawberries are grown from December until the end of April.
Elsanta
Elsanta is a popular strawberry variety in The Netherlands – and for good reason. Elsanta strawberries are known for their large size and juicy, sweet flavour. They have a firm texture, which gives them a longer shelf life. Elsanta strawberries are grown from April to June and again in Autumn from September to December.

Storing strawberries: how to keep them fresh
- Place a sheet of kitchen paper at the bottom of a container or plate. Spread the strawberries over it without removing the green tops. The paper will absorb any excess moisture.
- Store the strawberries uncovered in the fridge, preferably in the vegetable drawer.
- Want to wash the strawberries? Let them reach room temperature first and wash them only just before eating.

How we grow our strawberries
At Beekers Berries, every strawberry is grown with love, passion, and respect for both nature and people. Our unique growing method combines traditional and innovative techniques. We still grow strawberries in open soil, but on raised beds. This allows us to produce the tastiest strawberries while creating an ergonomic working environment for our colleagues.
Working with nature
We work closely with nature. In our greenhouses, bees, bumblebees, and other beneficial insects play an important role. Our bees come from a local beekeeper and, together with the bumblebees, ensure cross-pollination. Other insects act as natural predators to control harmful pests, helping us maintain a healthy environment for our berries.

Can you freeze strawberries?
Although strawberries taste best fresh, they freeze well. Remove the green tops, cut them into pieces if desired, and store them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They can be kept in the freezer for up to 12 months.
